Wildfire Response and Preparedness Act of 2025

What it does
- Requires the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior to establish a standard for response time to wildfire incidents on Federal land within 90 days of enactment.
- Sets a goal for response time to wildfire incidents of not more than 30 minutes, with deployment of fire suppression assets within 3 hours, to the extent practicable.
- Directs the Secretaries concerned to jointly submit a report to Congress within 1 year identifying a single point of contact for Federal wildland fire response at the Department of Interior.
- Requires the report to describe key performance indicators for wildfire response across the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, National Park Service, and Fish and Wildlife Service.
- Directs the report to estimate the size of aviation and ground wildfire suppression fleet required to meet the 30-minute response time standard and identify necessary changes to Federal ordering and dispatch systems.
