PREPARE Act

What it does
- Directs the Secretary of Agriculture and Secretary of the Interior to establish a pilot program for prepositioning aerial wildfire suppression resources in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, South Dakota, and Wyoming for early-season fine fuel fires.
- Requires the pilot program to be established in accordance with each state's Master Cooperative Wildland Fire Management and Stafford Act Response Agreement.
- Requires the Secretaries to consult with the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center when establishing the pilot program.
- Prohibits the Secretaries from using additional appropriations and requires the pilot program to be funded from existing wildland fire management funding.
