Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District Boundary Expansion and Partnership Act of 2026

What it does

Expands the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District to include Rockbridge County, Virginia and Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan Counties, West Virginia.
Authorizes $1,250,000 annually beginning in fiscal year 2027 to the management entity for operations and battlefield park maintenance.
Authorizes $2,500,000 annually for fiscal years 2027 through 2033 for grants, technical assistance, and land acquisition from willing sellers.
Requires the Secretary of the Interior to submit a report within 2 years recommending methods to replicate the District's partnership model at other National Park System locations.
Excludes the District from administrative provisions and funding formulas applicable to components of the National Heritage Area System.
