Water Resources Development Act of 2026

What it does

Authorizes feasibility studies and project modifications for rivers, harbors, and water resources development across multiple states, including coastal storm risk management and ecosystem restoration.
Establishes procedures for Corps of Engineers real estate guidance, non-federal interest contributions, and review processes for water resources projects.
Authorizes deauthorizations, conveyances, and modifications of existing water resources projects, including dam rehabilitation and reauthorization of small water storage projects.
Directs studies and reports on specific projects including glacial lake outburst flooding in Juneau Alaska, Virginia Peninsula coastal storm risk management, and ecosystem restoration in multiple regions.
