Disaster Communications Coordination and Preparedness Act

What it does
- Directs the FCC to review and update procedures for providing notices on activation and deactivation of the Disaster Information Reporting System within 180 days of enactment.
- Requires the FCC to evaluate the feasibility of enhancing public safety liaison functions, including through the 24-hour operations center, to serve as a point of entry for state and local officials during disasters within 18 months of enactment.
- Directs the FCC to develop and publicly release plain-language materials describing DIRS operations, the Mandatory Disaster Response Initiative, and FCC coordination capabilities for state, local, tribal, and territorial emergency management authorities within one year of enactment.
