BANNED in Latin America Act

What it does
- Directs the Secretary of State to submit a comprehensive strategy within 180 days for countering Iran's and Hezbollah's propaganda networks and influence operations in Latin America.
- Requires the strategy to include initiatives to strengthen U.S. capacity to identify, monitor, and disrupt Iranian and Hezbollah networks cooperating with academic institutions and nongovernmental organizations in Latin America.
- Requires the strategy to include a framework for disrupting Hezbollah's Al Mayadeen Espanol platform through sanctions, designations, and cooperation with regional partners to limit broadcasting and digital presence.
- Requires the strategy to include a plan to expose Iran's Al Mustafa International University network and coordinate with local governments to address its radicalization and recruitment activities.
- Requires the strategy to include initiatives to weaken Iranian and Hezbollah-linked networks' involvement in drug smuggling, money laundering, natural resource exploitation, and document fraud operations.
