Pacific POWER Act

What it does
- Directs the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy, to advance geothermal energy bilaterally and multilaterally to develop deployment goals, learning forums, risk-sharing financial tools, regulatory reforms, and technical assistance.
- Requires the Secretary of State to select U.S. allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific for geothermal development partnerships based on strategic alignment with national security and foreign policy objectives.
- Authorizes relevant U.S. agencies including the Department of Energy, Department of Interior, and the Export-Import Bank to support geothermal projects for selected partners through financing, technical assistance, and capacity building.
