Reassessing the United States-Tanzania Bilateral Relationship Act

What it does
- Directs the Secretary of State, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, the United States Trade Representative, and other relevant agencies, to conduct a comprehensive reassessment of the bilateral relationship between the United States and Tanzania within 90 days of enactment.
- Requires the reassessment to analyze Tanzania's democratic priorities and trajectory, necessary democratic reforms, security assistance reliability, impacts of political unrest and internet shutdown on United States business, and the relationship between Tanzania and China including military, economic.
- Requires the Secretary of State to submit to Congress within 180 days of enactment a report listing senior Tanzanian government and military officials responsible for or complicit in abductions, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detention of political opponents, journalists, or civil society actors.
