COST Act

What it does
- Requires agencies and federal grant recipients to disclose in public statements and documents the dollar amount and percentage of federal funding in all federally funded programs, projects, and activities.
- Requires federal grant recipients to certify in performance reporting whether they complied with disclosure requirements for communications about federally funded work.
- Directs the Office of Management and Budget Director to annually review a random sample of public communications from agencies and grant recipients for compliance and publish findings.
- Requires the Office of Management and Budget Director to establish a public reporting mechanism within one year to allow anonymous reports of noncompliant communications.
