North Rim and Kaibab National Forest Restoration Act of 2026

What it does
- Authorizes the National Park Service and Forest Service to use emergency contracting flexibilities under federal acquisition regulations to expedite contractor approval for forest management, rebuilding, and recovery activities in Grand Canyon National Park.
- Directs the Secretary of the Interior and Secretary of Agriculture to submit reports every 180 days for up to 5 years detailing expenditures, contractors, conflicts of interest, waste or fraud, and progress on recovery efforts in the affected areas.
- Requires the Secretaries to invite Indian Tribes and local stakeholders to participate in planning and reconstruction activities and prioritize contracting with Tribal and local businesses for recovery work.
- Permits the National Park Service and Forest Service to enter into noncompetitive procurement contracts with existing authorized concessioners to coordinate recovery efforts at facilities in the affected areas.
