What it does
- Directs the Secretary of the Interior, through the Commissioner of Reclamation, to complete a feasibility study on a selective water withdrawal system at Glen Canyon Dam within 18 months of enactment.
- Requires the feasibility study to include hydrological modeling to optimize hydropower generation while preventing invasive species entrainment, per the 2016 and 2024 Long-Term Experimental and Management Plans.
- Authorizes the Secretary to begin construction of a feasibility-determined alternative only if Colorado River Storage Project power contractors concur.
- Directs the Secretary to identify sources of available appropriated funds within 90 days to cover feasibility study costs, with all Federal funds to be nonreimbursable.
