PUBLIC Lands Act

What it does
- Establishes the South Fork Trinity-Mad River Restoration Area comprising approximately 871,414 acres of Federal land in California administered by the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
- Requires the Secretary of Agriculture and Secretary of the Interior to jointly submit to Congress within 2 years a collaborative restoration plan and updated fire management plan for the restoration area.
- Establishes the California Public Land Remediation Partnership to coordinate Federal, State, Tribal, local, and private sector activities in remediating Federal land affected by illegal marijuana cultivation or other illegal activities.
- Designates wilderness areas and wild and scenic rivers in California and directs the Secretary to study additional scenic areas and recreation trails across multiple National Forests.
- Withdraws the restoration area from all forms of entry, appropriation, disposal, mining, and mineral and geothermal leasing under public land laws.
