Cold Weather Diesel Reliability Act of 2026

What it does
- Directs the EPA Administrator to revise Clean Air Act regulations within 180 days to authorize diesel vehicle and equipment manufacturers to suspend engine derate or shutdown functions triggered by emissions control system faults when ambient temperatures are at or below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Directs the EPA Administrator to revise Clean Air Act regulations within 180 days to authorize manufacturers to permanently suspend engine derate or shutdown functions on agricultural equipment regardless of temperature.
- Directs the EPA Administrator to revise Clean Air Act regulations within 180 days to authorize manufacturers to permanently suspend engine derate or shutdown functions on covered vehicles primarily operated north of 59 degrees north latitude, verified by commercial operation and maintenance records.
