American Shores Protection Act of 2025

What it does

• Prohibits the Secretary of the Interior from issuing leases or authorizations for oil and natural gas exploration, development, or production in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, South Atlantic Planning Area, and Straits of Florida Planning Area from the date of enactment through June 30, 2032.
• Preserves all existing rights under oil and natural gas leases issued before the bill's enactment in the affected areas.
