PAID OFF Act of 2025

What it does
- Amends the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 to eliminate exemptions for agents of foreign principals owned or controlled by designated countries of concern, including China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
- Authorizes the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Attorney General, to propose adding or removing countries from the list of countries of concern.
- Requires any proposed modification to the countries of concern list to be submitted to Congress leadership and take effect only upon enactment of a joint resolution of approval.
- Establishes a 5-year sunset provision for all amendments made by this Act.
