Taiwan Energy Security and Anti-Embargo Act of 2026

What it does
- Directs the Secretary of State, in coordination with the Secretaries of Commerce and Energy, to prioritize support for increased exportation of U.S. liquefied natural gas to Taiwan and engage with U.S. LNG producers and exporters to identify barriers to exports and storage projects intended for Taiwan.
- Requires the Secretary of State, in coordination with the Secretaries of Defense and Energy, to engage with Taiwan's government within 180 days of enactment to cooperate on capacity building to enhance energy infrastructure resilience, including cybersecurity, physical security, and workforce development.
- Authorizes the Secretary of State to establish a joint U.S.-Taiwan Energy Security Center in the United States leveraging higher education institutions and private sector entities to foster dialogue on energy security and resilience.
- Requires the Secretary of State to submit annual reports to Congress for three years describing actions taken, barriers to LNG exports to Taiwan, and recommendations to enhance Taiwan's energy security and reduce its vulnerability to energy disruption.
