Appalachian Trail Centennial Act

What it does
- Declares that national historic trails and national scenic trails are landscape conservation tools intended to be developed and preserved collaboratively through public-private partnerships and volunteer organizations.
- Establishes that federal agencies retain administration of covered trails while delegating non-inherently governmental management and operational roles to volunteers, volunteer organizations, and cooperating entities under cooperative management agreements.
- Requires the Secretary concerned to designate one or more Designated Operational Partners for each covered trail to coordinate stewardship and development activities in partnership with federal and state trust resource managers, tribal governments, and nongovernmental organizations.
