Myakka Wild and Scenic River Act of 2025

What it does
- Designates approximately 34 miles of the Myakka River in Sarasota County, Florida, as a component of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, segmented into scenic, wild, and recreational classifications.
- Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to enter into cooperative agreements with Florida state agencies, Sarasota County, the cities of North Port and Venice, and nonprofit organizations to administer the designated river.
- Limits the Secretary's authority to acquire land for the Myakka River to donation or acquisition with owner consent, and prohibits condemnation of land or interests in land.
- Requires the Secretary to appoint a National Park Service representative to the Myakka River Management Coordinating Council and coordinate management responsibilities through the Council's comprehensive management plan.
