REUSE Act of 2025

What it does
- Directs the EPA Administrator to publish a report within 2 years on the feasibility and best practices of reuse and refill systems for products and beverage containers across sectors including food service, consumer products, and public institutions.
- Requires the report to evaluate types of reuse and refill systems at different scales and methods to ensure equitable distribution across communities of varying sizes.
- Requires the report to assess job creation, economic costs and benefits for businesses and waste management entities, and types of local, state, and federal support needed to expand reuse systems.
- Directs the Administrator to identify existing barriers to widespread implementation of reuse and refill systems and to consult with stakeholders and review relevant programs in states and foreign countries.
