Strategic Grazing to Reduce Risk of Wildfire Act

What it does
- Requires the Secretary of Agriculture and Secretary of the Interior to develop within 18 months a strategy to use livestock grazing as a wildfire risk reduction tool on federal lands under their jurisdiction.
- Directs the strategy to consider targeted grazing to reduce hazardous fuels in the wildland urban interface and other critical areas, including use of temporary permits for fuels reduction and invasive grass control.
- Requires the Secretaries to consult with States, local governments, Indian Tribes, utility authorities, firefighting agencies, conservation organizations, and community stakeholders in developing the strategy.
- Directs the strategy to include a workforce development plan to ensure federal workers have skills to manage livestock grazing programs and deploy advanced technologies such as virtual fencing.
