Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act

What it does
- Directs the Secretary of Commerce to conduct a study within one year on the feasibility of domestically manufacturing products for the 16 critical infrastructure sectors identified in Presidential Policy Directive 21.
- Requires the study to identify imported products in high demand across critical infrastructure sectors that face U.S. manufacturing, material, or supply chain constraints.
- Requires analysis of costs, benefits, employment effects, labor conditions, and pricing impacts of domestic manufacturing for identified products.
- Requires identification of federal policies, regulations, or guidance that inhibit, create barriers to, or increase costs of domestic manufacturing.
- Directs the Secretary to submit an unclassified report with recommendations to Congress within 18 months and publish the unclassified findings on the Department of Commerce website.
