Safe Routes Improvement Act

What it does

Requires each State to designate a coordinator for the Safe Routes to School program in the State.
Directs the coordinator to serve as the point of contact for the Safe Routes to School program in the State.
Permits States to designate an existing State employee as the coordinator.
Requires each State to provide the coordinator's contact information on the State department of transportation website.
Requires States to fill vacancies in the coordinator position within 180 days of the vacancy.
