Wild Olympics Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers Act

What it does
- Designates approximately 126,554 acres of Federal land in Olympic National Forest in Washington as new and expanded wilderness areas, comprising 14 distinct wilderness units to be managed by the Secretary of Agriculture under the Wilderness Act.
- Designates approximately 5,346 acres as potential wilderness that will automatically convert to wilderness upon termination of nonconforming uses, as published in the Federal Register by the Secretary.
- Amends Section 3(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate the Elwha River (approximately 29.0 miles from source to Cat Creek) as a wild river to be administered by the Secretary of the Interior.
- Designates the Dungeness River from headwaters to State land as a wild and scenic river, with administration split between the Secretary of Agriculture and Secretary of the Interior for portions within Olympic National Park.
