Alex Gate Safety Act of 2025

What it does
- Direct the Consumer Product Safety Commission to promulgate a final consumer product safety standard for covered gates within 1 year of enactment, incorporating requirements from ASTM F900-25, ASTM F1184-23e1, ASTM F2200-24, and ANSI/CAN/UL 325 standards as applicable.
- Require the CPSC to adopt revised voluntary standards for covered gates automatically 180 days after notification by the standard-setting organization, unless the CPSC determines within 90 days that the revision does not improve safety.
- Direct the CPSC to undertake a national education and awareness campaign within 2 years of enactment to inform manufacturers, consumers, building officials, and schools about the dangers of covered gates and methods to prevent injury and death.
- Require the CPSC to submit a report to Congress within 3 years of enactment summarizing actions taken in the public awareness campaign regarding covered gate safety.
