Virginia Wilderness Additions Act of 2025

What it does
- Adds approximately 1,000 acres to the Rough Mountain Wilderness Area in the George Washington National Forest by amendment to Public Law 100-326.
- Designates approximately 4,600 acres as a potential wilderness area to be incorporated into the Rich Hole Wilderness Area in the George Washington National Forest.
- Allows the Secretary of Agriculture to use motorized equipment and mechanized transport in the potential Rich Hole Addition area until wilderness designation occurs, for water quality improvement and aquatic passage activities under the Lower Cowpasture Restoration and Management Project.
- Mandates wilderness designation of the Rich Hole Addition upon completion of permitted water quality activities or 5 years after enactment, whichever is earlier.
