National Landslide Preparedness Act Reauthorization Act of 2025

What it does
- Defines atmospheric rivers, atmospheric river flooding events, and extreme precipitation events in the Flood Level Observation, Operations, and Decision Support Act.
- Requires the Secretary of Commerce to assess risks that atmospheric river flooding events and extreme precipitation events pose to landslide hazards in the first national strategy published after enactment.
- Expands the national landslide hazards database to identify areas at risk due to hydrology changes, atmospheric river flooding events, extreme precipitation events, geologic activity, and data-poor areas.
- Authorizes the Secretary to consult with institutions of higher education and stakeholders to establish emergency response procedures for debris flow early warning systems.
