Promoting United States Leadership in Standards Act of 2025

What it does
- Directs the National Institute of Standards and Technology to provide Congress with a briefing within one year on opportunities for Federal Government support of industry-led development of technical standards for artificial intelligence and other critical and emerging technologies.
- Establishes a mechanism requiring Federal agencies to report their participation in standards activities related to artificial intelligence and other critical and emerging technologies to the Secretary of State and the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
- Directs the National Institute of Standards and Technology to establish an accessible web portal coordinated with the Secretary of State to inform United States industry and Federal agencies about international efforts to develop technical standards for artificial intelligence and other critical.
- Requires the National Institute of Standards and Technology to establish a pilot program within 180 days to award grants to eligible entities hosting standards meetings for artificial intelligence and other critical and emerging technologies in the United States, with grants covering up.
