What it does
- Transfers approximately 44,950 acres of federal land administered by the Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation to trust status for the Moapa Band of Paiutes, subject to existing utility and transmission rights-of-way.
- Transfers approximately 196 acres of tribal fee land to trust status for the Moapa Band of Paiutes and directs the Secretary of the Interior to complete a survey within 180 days.
- Transfers approximately 3,156 acres of federal land administered by the Bureau of Land Management to trust status for the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe and requires grant of a 300-foot-wide renewable energy transmission corridor right-of-way within 30 days.
- Restricts land taken into trust for the Moapa Band of Paiutes and Las Vegas Paiute Tribe from eligibility for class II or class III gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
- Eliminates federal reserved water rights for land transferred to the Moapa Band of Paiutes but preserves state water rights retained by the tribe.
