Transparency in Medicare Advantage Steering Act

What it does
- Requires Medicare Advantage organizations to annually report to the Secretary, beginning with plan years on or after January 1, 2028, whether each enrolled individual was enrolled by an agent, broker, or other third party.
- Mandates that Medicare Advantage organizations report the amount and form of compensation paid to agents, brokers, and third parties for each enrollment, and the total compensation paid to all such representatives for the plan year.
- Directs the Secretary to add an indicator to the Chronic Condition Data Warehouse by January 1, 2030 to identify individuals enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans by agents, brokers, or third parties.
- Requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to publish on its website, beginning January 1, 2030, information on total compensation paid by Medicare Advantage organizations to agents, brokers, and third parties.
