Nutrition Education and Chronic Disease Prevention in Community Health Centers Act of 2026

What it does
- Amends the Public Health Service Act to authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Health Resources and Services Administration, to award grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements to federally qualified health centers for nutrition education and chronic disease prevention.
- Permits the Secretary to use existing funding made available under section 10503(a)(1) of the Affordable Care Act to support patient-centered nutrition education, integration of nutrition assessment into chronic disease management, training for health center providers, interdisciplinary care models.
- Requires health centers receiving awards to prioritize serving populations with high rates of diet-related chronic disease, food insecurity, or nutrition-related health disparities.
- Directs the Secretary to submit annual reports to Congress beginning three years after enactment through fiscal year 2031 describing fund use, patient outcomes, workforce training improvements, and estimated cost savings to Federal health care programs.
