What it does
- Directs the National Institute of Standards and Technology Director to provide Congress a briefing within 1 year on federal support opportunities for industry-led development of technical standards for artificial intelligence and other critical and emerging technologies.
- Requires the Director to establish an accessible web portal listing international standards development efforts for artificial intelligence and other critical and emerging technologies and participation opportunities.
- Directs the Director to establish a pilot program awarding grants to organizations developing standards for artificial intelligence and critical and emerging technologies to support hosting standards meetings in the United States, with grants covering up to 50 percent of meeting costs.
- Requires federal agency heads to report to the Director on their participation in standards activities relating to artificial intelligence and other critical and emerging technologies using a mechanism developed by the Director.
