Department of Energy Nuclear Transparency Act

What it does
- Requires the Secretary of Energy to post a public announcement within 24 hours of altering a directive or safety standard for covered DOE nuclear facilities, including a summary of how the directive or safety standard was altered.
- Requires the Secretary of Energy to post a public announcement within 24 hours of issuing a preliminary documented safety analysis or documented safety analysis for a covered DOE nuclear facility, and to include the analysis unless it contains commercially sensitive information.
- Requires the Secretary of Energy to post a public announcement within 24 hours of entering into an agreement to authorize a covered DOE nuclear facility, including information about any conditions applying to the agreement.
- Requires the Secretary of Energy to submit an annual report to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources detailing activities taken to authorize covered DOE nuclear facilities during the previous calendar year.
