Preventing Foreign Interference in American Elections Act

What it does
- Amends the Federal Election Campaign Act to prohibit foreign nationals from donating funds for voter registration, ballot collection, voter identification, get-out-the-vote activities, communications referring to political parties, or election administration.
- Prohibits persons from knowingly aiding or facilitating violations of foreign money bans in electoral activities.
- Treats indirect contributions routed through intermediaries or conduits as foreign donations if they fund prohibited electoral activities.
- Requires political committees, parties, and independent expenditure filers to certify under penalty of perjury that they comply with foreign money prohibitions.
- Prohibits federal entities from collecting or publicly disclosing the identification of donors to tax-exempt organizations, with exceptions for the IRS, Senate, House, FEC, and court-ordered disclosures.
