SAT Streamlining Act

What it does
- Directs the FCC to issue rules within 12 months establishing expedited treatment for specific license modifications, notification procedures for covered authorizations, and policies promoting competition, innovation, and efficient spectrum use.
- Requires the FCC to determine whether to grant NGSO (nongeostationary orbit) satellite license applications within 1 year of public notice of acceptance, or within 1 year of a major amendment if one is filed.
- Requires the FCC to determine whether to grant GSO (geostationary orbit) satellite license applications within 1 year of public notice of acceptance, or within 1 year of a major amendment if one is filed.
- Establishes a maximum initial license term of 15 years for satellite licenses granted under the NGSO and GSO application pathways.
