Veteran Infection Prevention Act

What it does
- Requires sterile processing technicians newly appointed to the Veterans Health Administration to obtain certification from an accredited institution within two years of appointment, except for entry-level positions.
- Applies the certification requirement to current Veterans Health Administration employees 18 months after enactment.
- Directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to award scholarships to current uncertified sterile processing technicians to cover certification costs.
- Terminates the certification requirement on September 30, 2028.
- Extends the payment limit sunset date for certain veterans pensions from January 31, 2033 to September 30, 2034.
