What it does

• Allows the Secretary of the Interior to lease mineral deposits on federal and acquired land within Carlsbad, New Mexico, provided the City consents in writing.
• Exempts mineral leasing on covered land in Carlsbad from existing exclusions in the Mineral Leasing Act and Mineral Leasing Act for Acquired Lands that prohibit leasing in incorporated cities and towns.
