What it does
- Allows States to opt out of federal interest rate exportation preemption by adopting a law or voter-approved measure explicitly stating they do not want the preemption to apply to loans made by their own state-chartered depository institutions.
- Allows States to opt out of federal interest rate exportation preemption by adopting a law or voter-approved measure explicitly stating they do not want the preemption to apply to loans made by their own state-chartered credit unions.
- Repeals Section 525 of the Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980 and makes the opt-out amendments retroactively applicable to any state law or certification adopted before the effective date.
