Rejecting the Erasure of Afghan Women and Girls Act

What it does

• Requires the Secretary of State to submit a report to Congress within 180 days describing current restrictions imposed by the Taliban on women and girls in Afghanistan since August 2021.
• Directs the Secretary of State to determine whether the described restrictions constitute crimes against humanity, torture under the Convention Against Torture, or gross violations of human rights under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961.
