MTS CYBER Act of 2026

What it does
- Directs the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a review within 270 days of enactment to assess the Coast Guard's funding and resource needs for sector risk management duties, including cybersecurity personnel, training, and enforcement.
- Requires the review to evaluate the Coast Guard's ability to assess compliance with cybersecurity requirements for regulated maritime entities against statutory, regulatory, and industry best-practice benchmarks.
- Requires the Comptroller General to assess the sufficiency of guidance provided to industry stakeholders on implementing and complying with maritime cyber regulations.
- Directs the Comptroller General to submit findings and recommendations to the Senate Commerce, Appropriations, Homeland Security, and House Transportation, Appropriations, and Homeland Security committees.
