Transatlantic Academic Security and Risk Mitigation Act

What it does
- Requires the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs to submit a strategy to Congress within 180 days identifying relationships between European academic and research institutions and Chinese entities of concern that pose risks to U.S. foreign policy interests.
- Directs the strategy to assess the scale, scope, and activities of Chinese entities of concern in Europe, disaggregated by country.
- Directs the strategy to evaluate vulnerabilities, threats, and national security risks to the United States and European allies posed by Chinese entities of concern in Europe.
- Directs the strategy to recommend bilateral and multilateral U.S. diplomatic engagement with European governments and institutions to mitigate risks from Chinese entities of concern.
