Form 5500 Filing Simplification Act

What it does
- Amends ERISA section 104(a)(1) to require Form 5500 filing with the Secretary within 15 days after the end of the ninth calendar month following the plan year, replacing the prior 210-day deadline.
- Amends ERISA section 4065 to require plan administrators' annual reports within 15 days after the end of the ninth calendar month following the plan year, replacing the prior six-month deadline.
- Directs the Treasury Secretary, Labor Secretary, and Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation to modify Form 5500 and related reports to permit electronic signatures.
- Allows plans to comply in good faith with this Act's provisions until electronic signature modifications are implemented.
