PRESS Act

What it does
- Amends the Controlled Substances Act to make it unlawful for any person to manufacture or distribute tableting machines, encapsulating machines, press punches, die systems, gelatin capsules, or related equipment intending or knowing they will be used.
- Establishes that importation or distribution of such equipment in violation of the new provision subjects the offender to fine and imprisonment, with a maximum of 8 years for violations involving pill press equipment.
- Directs the United States Sentencing Commission to review and amend Federal sentencing guidelines and policy statements in accordance with these amendments to the Controlled Substances Act.
