VOTE Act

What it does
- Requires states to notify registered voters at least 7 days before an election if their assigned polling place has changed from the previous federal election, using mail, telephone, text message, and email.
- Directs election officials to post general notices on state or local websites, social media platforms, and at prior polling places when polling place assignments change.
- Requires states to make reasonable efforts to allow voters to cast ballots on election day if they appear at their former polling place due to late reassignment.
- Mandates posting of signs at closed polling places informing voters of the closure, alternative locations, directions, and contact information for election officials.
- Requires notification of vote center locations to eligible voters at least 2 days before early voting begins in jurisdictions using vote centers.
