CRUISE Act

What it does

• Requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to make automobile payments to sellers in compliance with federal invoice-payment regulations and to publish in the Federal Register the number of days required when any payment exceeds 30 days.
• Directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to process all automobile payments through one centralized office and to track and resolve payments that are more than 90 days overdue.
• Requires the Secretary to submit four semiannual reports to Congress and publish them on the VA website detailing payment processing times and information technology improvements needed.
• Directs the Comptroller General to review the centralized payment office within 180 days of its completion and report to Congress on its capacity, resource needs, and cost estimates for further improvements.
