Improving Mental Health Care and Coordination for Homeless Veterans Act

What it does
- Requires homeless program employees to assess veterans needing homeless services within three days, including evaluation of physical and mental health needs and identification of appropriate housing.
- Directs homeless program employees to ensure assessment information is consistent with the veteran's electronic health record and to maintain personally identifiable information in compliance with Department policies and Federal law.
- Requires the Director of the Homeless Program Office to monitor implementation of care plans to ensure homeless and at-risk veterans with mental health issues receive appropriate services to address their immediate and long-term needs.
