U.S. Vets of the FAS Act

What it does
- Requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to work expeditiously with governments of the Freely Associated States to enter into agreements for furnishing health services to veterans in those states, consistent with section 1724(f) of title 38.
- Mandates that agreements include telehealth services and mail-order pharmacy services for veterans in the Freely Associated States, delivered at minimum through these two modalities.
- Directs the Secretary to initiate outreach to each Freely Associated States government within 30 days of enactment, enter into required agreements within one year, and begin furnishing telehealth and mail-order pharmacy services within one year.
- Amends section 111(h)(1) of title 38 to require the Secretary to make beneficiary travel payments whenever the Secretary exercises authority to make any payments under that section, effective one year after enactment for travel occurring on or after that date.
- Requires the Secretary to submit quarterly reports to Congress on implementation and costs until agreements are entered into and services begin, including descriptions of technical and logistical impediments.
