Protecting Families from AI Data Center Energy Costs Act

What it does
- Requires the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to hold a technical conference within 90 days of enactment with representatives from the Department of Energy, public utilities, transmission providers, state regulators, ratepayer advocates, and large loads including data centers to discuss strategies.
- Directs the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to submit a report to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources within 180 days after the technical conference concludes, containing recommendations and best practices for protecting residential.
