Safer GAMING Act

What it does
- Requires online video game providers to offer safeguards that allow parents to limit communication between minors and other users, with these controls enabled by default and disableable only by parents.
- Mandates that parental control features be accessible, easy-to-use, and included at the highest privacy and safety protection level offered by the game provider.
- Treats violations as unfair or deceptive practices enforceable by the Federal Trade Commission under the FTC Act, with the same penalties and procedures as other FTC violations.
- Grants state attorneys general the right to bring civil actions on behalf of state residents for violations, with notification to and intervention rights for the FTC.
