What it does
- Establishes an Under Secretary for Management in the Department of State responsible for management, administration, and foreign operations support including acquisitions, human resources, facilities, security, and consular affairs.
- Directs the Under Secretary for Management to administer historic and artistic furnishings in the Harry S. Truman Federal Building's reception areas, including authority to sell items at fair market value or lend to the Smithsonian Institution.
- Creates a Chief Medical Officer position appointed by the Secretary to lead the Office of Medical Services and oversee clinical and mental health programs.
- Establishes an Assistant Secretary for Administration responsible to the Under Secretary for Management for enterprise logistics, knowledge management, acquisition, and operational services supporting U.S. foreign policy.
