Widespread Information Management for the Welfare of Infrastructure and Government Act

What it does
- Reauthorizes the Cybersecurity Act of 2015 and amends it to add definitions for artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure, and Sector Risk Management Agencies.
- Directs the Federal Government to develop, issue, and update procedures for sharing cyber threat indicators and defensive measures, including one-time read-ins to select individuals at critical infrastructure operators.
- Requires the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security to jointly update policies and procedures for cyber threat information sharing, prioritizing rapid dissemination to State, local, Tribal, territorial governments and non-Federal critical infrastructure owners.
- Directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to develop and implement an outreach plan within 90 days to ensure Federal and non-Federal entities, particularly small and rural critical infrastructure operators, understand how to share cyber threat indicators and defensive measures.
- Permits Federal agencies to use artificial intelligence developed or strictly deployed for cybersecurity purposes in carrying out cybersecurity threat prevention and analysis activities.
